Authorizes the Land Use Commission (LUC) to designate county or state lands as important agricultural lands in any county that fails to identify and recommend such lands by December 31, 2027

LUC must follow existing statutory processes and criteria when making these designations, including holding public hearings and requiring approval by two-thirds of commission members

Amends Section 205-49 of the Hawaii Revised Statutes governing the designation and mapping of important agricultural lands

Designated lands guide state and county decision-making on reclassification, rezoning, and agricultural development programs

Effective date set for July 1, 3000 (placeholder date indicating further legislative action needed)
