HI SB2112

Prohibits the manufacture, sale, distribution, and offering for sale of any food for human consumption in Hawaii that contains petroleum-based synthetic dyes or synthetic chemical additives, effective January 1, 2027.

Amends Hawaii Revised Statutes Chapter 328 (food, drugs, and cosmetics law) by adding a new section specifically banning these additives.

Adds violation of the new additive prohibition to the list of prohibited acts under Section 328-6, making it subject to existing enforcement mechanisms and penalties.

Applies to all food sold or distributed within the State of Hawaii, regardless of where it was manufactured.
