Nominees for state positions requiring senate confirmation must file financial disclosure statements no later than five days after nomination or five days before the first confirmation hearing, whichever occurs first.

Financial disclosure statements for nominees subject to senate confirmation are designated as public records available for inspection and duplication.

Legislators must disclose relationships with persons who filed lobbyist expenditure statements and provided at least $5,000 in income during the preceding calendar year.

The bill updates terminology from "member" to "legislator" and from "member's partner" to "legislator's spouse" throughout the financial disclosure statutes.

Takes effect January 1, 2027, and does not affect rights, duties, penalties, or proceedings that began before that date.
