HI SB2607

Authorizes the Board of Professional Engineers, Architects, Surveyors, and Landscape Architects to determine educational and examination requirements for landscape architect licensure in Hawaii, aligning with 2022 standards from the Council of Landscape Architectural Registration Boards.

Reduces the experience requirement for licensure without an approved degree from 12 years to 8 years of full-time lawful landscape architecture work.

Requires applicants with licenses from other jurisdictions to hold a license in good standing and pass a Hawaii-specific written examination covering climatic conditions, native plants, ecosystems, land use ordinances, and cultural/historical conditions.

Allows applicants to earn credit toward experience requirements based on education: up to 4 years credit for landscape architecture degrees from non-approved schools, or up to 2 years credit for any other degree or certificate.

Takes effect July 1, 2050.
