The parcel is located in the Banyan Drive resort area in Hilo and is currently leased to a private entity under General Lease No. S-5844 as part of the Grand Naniloa Hotel

Requires the Board of Land and Natural Resources to hold an open public meeting with opportunity for testimony before approving any new use for the parcel after acquisition

Appropriates an unspecified sum from general revenues for fiscal year 2026-2027 to fund the leasehold acquisition

Effective date set for July 1, 2050
