Replaces Hawaii's Gun Violence and Violent Crimes Commission with a new Office of Gun Violence Prevention within the Department of the Attorney General

The new office will be led by a governor-appointed director and may employ analysts, grant writers, and other staff

Expands the office's mission to develop comprehensive strategies to prevent suicide, mass shootings, and other forms of gun violence in Hawaii

Requires the office to collect and analyze data from law enforcement and government entities, while keeping personally identifiable information confidential

Appropriates unspecified general fund dollars for fiscal year 2026-2027 for one full-time director position and operating costs, with the main provisions effective July 1, 2050
