Requires a minimum of three written quotes for these local food procurements instead of using the electronic system.

Supports the department's mandate to provide at least 30% locally sourced foods to Hawaii's public schools by 2030.

Applies to the state's largest department, which operates 295 schools and employs 42,000 salaried and part-time workers.

Takes effect July 1, 2026, and sunsets on June 30, 2028.
