Requires Hawaii Department of Human Services to provide Medicaid and Medicare Part D coverage for FDA-approved GLP-1 drugs (such as Saxenda, Wegovy, and Zepbound) when prescribed for weight loss purposes

Eliminates the current state exclusion that prevents Medicaid coverage of weight-loss medications for adults, which is permitted under federal law (42 USC 1396r-8(d)(2)(A))

Mandates temporary rules be issued by August 1, 2026, with permanent rules adopted by January 1, 2028

Prohibits prior authorization requirements for covered GLP-1 weight loss medications when prescribed by a licensed practitioner

Appropriates unspecified general fund revenues for fiscal year 2026-2027, with an effective date of July 1, 2026
