HI SB3232

Establishes the "universal school meals special fund" within the state treasury to be administered by the Department of Education for funding universal school meals.

Deposits into the special fund will include Medicaid reimbursements received by the department and any grants or donations designated for universal school meals.

Amends existing law to redirect Medicaid reimbursements from the general school lunch fund to the new universal school meals special fund.

Effective date is July 1, 2026.
