Authorizes the Department of Education to establish a recognition program incentivizing schools to submit plans to meet the farm-to-school meal goal of 30% locally sourced food by 2030 (established under Act 175, Session Laws of Hawaii 2021)

Requires all public high schools under the Department of Education to provide a plant-based meal option in the school meals program

Allows high schools to designate one day per week to serve only plant-based meal options

Requires high schools to develop their own guidelines covering nutrition, menu planning, and staffing to implement plant-based meal requirements, subject to DOE approval

Takes effect upon approval
