Undocumented students who meet specific criteria would qualify for in-state resident tuition rates, financial assistance, and program participation at the University of Hawaii

Eligibility requirements include: establishing Hawaii residency for at least 12 consecutive months, attending a U.S. high school for at least 3 years, and obtaining a high school diploma or equivalent in the U.S.

Students must have filed for Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) with U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, or submit an affidavit affirming intent to file when eligible

"Undocumented student" is defined as someone who is not a U.S. citizen, legal permanent resident, or non-immigrant alien and lacks legal documentation of status

Residency benefits are provided only to the extent permitted under applicable federal law
