Department of Transportation and Hawaii Housing Finance and Development Corporation requested to convene a working group evaluating state-owned warehouse and logistics facilities near ports, harbors, and airports to reduce construction material costs for publicly financed housing.

Working group tasked with identifying suitable state lands, analyzing bulk purchasing and material staging models, assessing cost savings potential, and examining public-private partnership opportunities.

Seven-member working group includes representatives from Transportation, HHFDC, Hawaiian Homes Commission, Pacific Resource Partnership, General Contractors Association of Hawaii, and legislative housing committee chairs.

Report with findings, recommendations, and proposed legislation due to the Legislature no later than twenty days before the 2027 Regular Session convenes.
