North Kohala has been historically underserved despite fertile land and abundant natural resources, contributing to Hawaii's struggles with agriculture production and food security.

The parcel offers potential for sustainable agricultural practices, farming, livestock, and agroforestry development.

Purchasing the land is intended to stimulate economic growth, support community initiatives, revitalize the rural economy, and improve state food self-sufficiency.

A certified copy of the resolution would be transmitted to the Executive Director of the Agribusiness Development Corporation.
