Requests the State Auditor to conduct a comprehensive performance and fiscal audit of the Department of Education's governance structure and administrative leadership, including the State Superintendent, Deputy Superintendents, Assistant Superintendents, and Complex Area Superintendents.

Audit scope includes examining job responsibilities, organizational reporting relationships, staff assignments, program oversight, and performance outcomes aligned with the DOE Strategic Plan.

Requires detailed fiscal analysis of leadership costs including salaries, benefits, support staff, and total aggregated administrative expenses.

Seeks identification of overlapping responsibilities, duplication of work across divisions, and opportunities for restructuring or downsizing administrative positions.

Auditor must submit findings and recommendations, including proposed legislation, to the Legislature no later than twenty days prior to the 2027 Regular Session.
