Requests the Department of Education to reissue Requests for Proposals for Job Order Contracting program contractors and prequalified small contractors to ensure continuity of the Future Schools Now program for school facility repairs.

The Future Schools Now program has completed 3,403 construction purchase orders totaling $435,746,663.68 as of December 2024, using job order contracting to dramatically reduce procurement timelines compared to traditional design-bid-build processes.

Hawaii's public schools face over $1 billion in deferred maintenance and capital improvement needs, and the current Job Order Contracting program contracts have expired while prequalified small contractor contracts are expected to end in 2027.

Requests DOE to initiate procurement for replacement contracts in 2026 to avoid service interruptions and continue using these methods to accelerate school repairs statewide.

Requires DOE to submit a report to the Legislature by 30 days before the 2027 Regular Session detailing the number of purchase orders issued, contractors employed, total project dollar value, and types of repairs completed.
