Requests the State Auditor to assess the social and financial effects of mandating health insurance coverage for biomarker testing as proposed in House Bill No. 1971 (Regular Session of 2026)

Biomarker testing analyzes a patient's tissue, blood, or other biospecimen for genes, proteins, and other substances to enable personalized diagnosis, treatment, management, and monitoring of diseases

The assessment would apply to insurers, mutual benefit societies, health maintenance organizations, and Medicaid managed care programs covering medically necessary biomarker testing supported by medical and scientific evidence

The Auditor's report must be submitted no later than 20 days prior to the convening of the Regular Session of 2027

Certified copies of the resolution will be transmitted to the Auditor, Director of Commerce and Consumer Affairs, and Insurance Commissioner
