Hawaii Senate reaffirms its commitment to participate as a member legislature in the Pacific Inter-Parliamentary Assembly, the successor organization to the Pacific Islands Parliamentary Group established in 2019.

The Pacific Inter-Parliamentary Assembly was formally established in August 2025 when member legislatures adopted statutes expanding the framework for cooperation and formalizing governance structures among Pacific parliaments.

The Assembly focuses on shared regional priorities including climate resilience, sustainable development, ocean stewardship, cultural preservation, and economic resilience across the Pacific region.

Hawaii is recognized as a natural bridge between Pacific Island nations and the United States due to its geographic location, indigenous heritage, and cultural connections across Oceania.

Certified copies of the resolution will be transmitted to the Governor, legislative leaders, East-West Center President, and Pacific Inter-Parliamentary Assembly leadership and secretariat.
