Urges appropriate authorities to redevelop the Pali Lanes property at 120 Hekili Street in Kailua to preserve its historic mid-century architecture and provide recreational, cultural, and community-serving uses for Windward Oahu residents.

Pali Lanes operated as a community recreational facility for 60 years before closing in 2021, hosting youth sports, hula halau performances, Special Olympics events, and nonprofit gatherings.

The property has remained vacant since 2021, with for-profit redevelopment proposals facing significant community opposition from residents, the Kailua Neighborhood Board, and elected officials.

Requests the Department of Land and Natural Resources evaluate options to acquire the property if public benefit renovation does not materialize.

Directs certified copies be sent to the Board of Land and Natural Resources, State Historic Preservation Division, Kailua Neighborhood Board No. 31, and Alexander & Baldwin, Inc.
