Legislative Description

A bill for an act relating to education, including establishing a student first scholarship program, a student first operational sharing fund, and a process for investigating complaints against licensed practitioners, modifying provisions related to supplementary weighting, the rights of students enrolled in school districts or charter schools, the rights of parents and guardians of those students, social studies instruction, open enrollment, competent private instruction, special education, practitioner preparation programs, mandatory reporters, and the responsibilities of the department of education, school districts, charter schools, accredited nonpublic schools, and the board of educational examiners, and including notice, effective date, applicability, and retroactive applicability provisions.
