School districts must incorporate age-appropriate Holocaust instruction for middle and high school students beginning with the 2026-2027 school year

Required curriculum topics include causes and ramifications of the Holocaust, history of antisemitism, the concentration camp system, Jewish and non-Jewish resistance, and post-World War II trials

Instruction must cover the role of U.S. armed forces in defeating the Third Reich, specifically recognizing contributions of African American soldiers (including Tuskegee Airmen), Native American soldiers, and Asian American soldiers

Teachers providing Holocaust instruction must receive professional development training through approved organizations such as the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum, Yad Vashem, or the Illinois Holocaust Museum and Education Center

The Department of Education must submit an annual report by October 1 to the governor and general assembly on the number of school districts offering Holocaust education
