Amends Iowa Code Section 726.6 to add a statutory definition of "child" as any person under eighteen years of age for purposes of child endangerment law

Replaces references to "minor" throughout the statute with "child" to standardize terminology in provisions covering abuse, neglect, and endangerment

Maintains existing protections prohibiting acts that create substantial risk to a child's physical, mental, or emotional health or safety by parents, guardians, custodians, or household members

Preserves the religious exemption allowing parents to decline specific medical treatment if it conflicts with their recognized religious denomination's tenets and practices

Retains existing prohibitions against permitting children at locations where methamphetamine or amphetamine is manufactured and against allowing registered sex offenders unsupervised access to children
