Practitioners licensed by the Board of Educational Examiners (BOEE) with at least 20 years of employment would be exempt from license renewal requirements under this bill.

Current law already exempts practitioners with at least 10 years of experience who hold a master's or doctoral degree from renewal requirements.

Practitioners holding an evaluator approval endorsement must still renew that endorsement at least once every 10 years, regardless of years of experience.

The BOEE retains authority to conduct criminal history registry checks on exempt practitioners every five years.

The bill does not affect the BOEE's ability to deny or revoke licenses under existing statutory authority.
