Reckless driving conviction is a simple misdemeanor punishable by up to 30 days confinement and fines of $105 to $855

If reckless driving unintentionally causes death, the offense becomes a class "C" felony punishable by up to 10 years imprisonment and fines of $1,370 to $13,660

If reckless driving unintentionally causes serious injury, the offense becomes a class "D" felony punishable by up to 5 years imprisonment and fines of $1,025 to $10,245

Amends Iowa Code section 321.277 to codify excessive speed as one form of willful or wanton disregard for safety
