Defines "direct contact" as physical contact or proximity where physical contact is possible, including any situation without a permanent barrier between the public and the animal

Adds sharks that can grow to more than 23 inches in length or have a documented history of biting humans to the definition of "dangerous wild animal"

Establishes that violations constitute an aggravated misdemeanor, punishable by up to two years confinement and fines ranging from $855 to $8,540

Exempts only persons specifically authorized under existing law (such as licensed facilities, veterinarians, or law enforcement) from the prohibition on direct contact
