Amends Iowa Code Section 152B.14 to require applicants for respiratory care practitioner licensure beginning January 1, 2027, to obtain the Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from the National Board for Respiratory Care, in addition to passing an examination.

Applicants already licensed as respiratory care practitioners in another state may alternatively complete a board-approved examination instead of obtaining the RRT credential.

Practitioners licensed in Iowa before January 1, 2027, are exempt from the RRT credential requirement for license renewal, unless their license lapsed more than three months prior to renewal.

Directs the Board of Respiratory Care and Polysomnography to cooperate with educational institutions and professional organizations to create pathways for those holding Certified Respiratory Therapist credentials to obtain the RRT credential.

Requires the board to develop continuing education opportunities to support the professional development of respiratory care practitioners.
