Covers family leave for caring for family members with serious health conditions, bonding with a new child after birth/adoption/foster placement, qualifying military exigencies, and situations involving domestic abuse or crime victimization

Defines "child" broadly to include biological, adopted, foster, and stepchildren, legal wards, and children of persons standing in loco parentis, regardless of age or dependency status

Includes commission salespeople as covered employees but excludes independent contractors, self-employed individuals, inmates/patients of state institutions, and certain agricultural workers
