Modifies summative testing requirements for K-12 students, changing math and reading assessments to grades 4, 8, and 11 (from grades 3-11), and adding science/social studies assessments in grades 8 and 10.

Restructures statewide assessments to include math and English language arts in grades 3-11, science in grades 5, 8, and 11, and social studies in grades 8 and 11.

Requires assessments to be aligned with Iowa core academic standards, peer-reviewed by independent third-party evaluators, and compliant with federal Every Student Succeeds Act requirements where applicable.

Mandates school districts adopt protocols for suicide prevention/postvention and identification of adverse childhood experiences based on nationally recognized best practices.

Passed by the Iowa House on March 10, 2026, and requires the Iowa Testing Program at University of Iowa to adjust assessments to meet new requirements.
