Classifies the offense as a serious misdemeanor, punishable by up to one year in jail and a fine between $430 and $2,560

Requires convicted offenders to register as sex offenders under Iowa Code section 692A.102

Mandates a special 10-year sentence committing the offender to the custody of the Iowa Department of Corrections director, with eligibility for parole
