Registered all-terrain vehicles (ATVs) and off-road utility vehicles may be operated on public hunting areas for the express purpose of transporting a lawfully taken deer carcass out of the area

Operators and passengers must wear visible blaze orange apparel (vest, coat, jacket, sweatshirt, sweater, shirt, or coveralls) until the deer carcass has been removed from the public hunting area

Current law generally prohibits ATV and off-road utility vehicle operation in parks, wildlife areas, preserves, refuges, game management areas, and navigable streams except on designated trails

Violations of ATV or off-road utility vehicle prohibitions constitute a simple misdemeanor with a $135 fine, potential $250 civil penalty, possible restitution for damages, and potential revocation of registration and permit privileges
