Removes the age limit (currently under 21) for autism spectrum disorder coverage under state employee group health plans established under Chapter 509A, allowing coverage for diagnostic assessment and treatment regardless of age

Eliminates the $36,000 annual maximum benefit cap for autism spectrum disorder treatment under state employee health plans

Removes age restrictions (currently under 19) for applied behavior analysis coverage and eliminates tiered maximum benefit amounts based on age ($36,000 for ages 0-6, $25,000 for ages 7-13, $12,500 for ages 14-18)

Prohibits group health policies from imposing aggregate annual or lifetime limits on coverage benefits specifically for autism spectrum disorder treatment

Applies to health plans delivered, issued, continued, or renewed in Iowa on or after January 1, 2026
