Law enforcement may apply to the court for consent to conduct a forensic interview of a minor at a licensed child advocacy center when the parent, guardian, or custodian of the minor is the suspect in a crime

The application must describe the nature of the crime being investigated, why a forensic interview is necessary, and attempts made to gain consent from any parent, guardian, or custodian

Applications must be supported by oath or affirmation, include specific and articulable facts, and demonstrate that a forensic interview as part of an investigation is warranted

"Minor" is defined as a person under 18 years of age
