School districts and nonpublic schools may authorize or direct individuals to carry, transport, or possess firearms, weapons, or ammunition in school vehicles transporting pupils, creating an exception to the current prohibition

Persons with valid concealed carry permits may have concealed pistols or revolvers on school grounds while dropping off or picking up students, staff, or others, or making deliveries, provided the firearm remains in the vehicle and the vehicle stays in driveways or parking areas

Vehicles containing firearms on school property must be locked when unattended

Retired peace officers who left service in good standing, maintain certification, and have completed firearm safety training within the past 12 months may carry firearms on school grounds

Takes effect immediately upon enactment
