Motocross facility operators are granted immunity from civil liability for injuries or deaths of participants resulting from inherent risks of motocross activities, including operator error, weather-related conditions, acts of nature, animal attacks, and injuries aggravated by remote locations

Immunity does not apply when facility operators intentionally injure participants, commit negligent acts that proximately cause injury or death, provide equipment they knew or should have known was unsafe, or fail to exercise ordinary care

Facility operators must post warning signs with black letters (minimum one inch height) on white background in clearly visible locations near motocross activity areas, notifying participants of the liability limitations under Iowa Code chapter 673B

The immunity provisions do not affect employer-employee relationships governed by Iowa workers' compensation law (chapter 87)

Existing claims or defenses under statute or common law are preserved, and the law does not apply retroactively to injuries or deaths occurring before the effective date
