Requires fire department chiefs or their designees to investigate the cause, origin, and circumstances of every fire in their city or township that results in property damage, bodily injury, or destruction, determining whether the fire was caused by natural factors, negligence, or intentional action

Grants fire department officers and employees access to personal motor vehicle registration information from the Iowa Department of Transportation when requested by presenting a license plate number, for purposes of fire investigations under Section 100.2

Adds fire department employees to the list of authorized persons who may access personal photographs, digital images, or digital reproductions of photographs from DOT records

Expands the definition of "criminal or juvenile justice agency" to include the fire marshal and officers or employees of fire departments acting pursuant to Chapter 100

Repeals Code Section 100.3, which previously governed reports of fires and emergency responses
