Current law limits veteran plates to those who served in the armed forces of the United States; this bill adds reserve forces and National Guard members

Removes the 20-year minimum service requirement currently imposed on reserve and National Guard members seeking veteran status for license plate purposes

Applicants must submit proof of military service and honorable discharge to the Department of Transportation for approval

Special plate fees continue to be deposited in the road use tax fund, with monthly transfers to the veterans license fee fund
