Lowers the minimum age for nonprofessional weapons carry permits from 21 to 18 years old, while maintaining the 18-year minimum for professional permits

Prohibits issuance of permits to acquire pistols or revolvers to persons under 21, and invalidates nonprofessional carry permits held by those under 21 for transferring pistols or revolvers from federally licensed firearms dealers (to comply with federal law 18 U.S.C. §922)

Reduces from 21 to 18 the minimum age for persons who may legally receive pistols, revolvers, or ammunition for such weapons

Allows parents, guardians, or spouses who are 18 or older (reduced from 21) to supervise minors under 18 in possession of pistols or revolvers for lawful purposes or instruction

Strikes existing subsection 4 of Section 724.22, effective July 1, 2025
