University of Northern Iowa established in 1876 in Cedar Falls as the Iowa State Normal School to train teachers, later becoming Iowa State Teachers College, State College of Iowa, and receiving its current name in 1967.

Resolution recognizes the university's 150th anniversary and commends its 150 years of service educating Iowans and preparing graduates who serve communities across all 99 Iowa counties.

Year 2026 also marks the 100th anniversary of the university's campanile and 50th anniversary of the UNIDome, two campus landmarks.

Resolution expresses appreciation to students, faculty, staff, alumni, and supporters for their commitment to education and strengthening Iowa communities.

A copy of the resolution will be presented to University of Northern Iowa leadership in recognition of the milestone.
