Children of child care workers become eligible for Iowa's state child care assistance (CCA) program, regardless of standard eligibility requirements under Code sections 237A.13 and 237A.14

Qualifying parents, guardians, or custodians must work at a child care facility or home that accepts CCA reimbursement and work an average minimum of 32 hours per week providing direct child care to children

Workers must be regularly counted in the minimum child-to-staff ratio and cannot be substitutes, assistants, or owners of the facility where their child is enrolled

Directors, co-directors, and administrative staff at child care facilities may also qualify if they are regularly counted in child-to-staff ratios

Participating families must make copayments as specified by the Department of Health and Human Services, which is required to adopt rules to administer the program
