Amends Iowa Code Section 80B.11D to update terminology from "short course of study" to "level II academy training program" for law enforcement certification pathways.

Applicants for level II academy training must submit proof of completing a two-year or four-year police science or criminal justice program at an accredited institution approved by the academy.

Expands eligibility qualifications to include either military veterans with active duty military police experience (under Code section 80B.11H(1)) or federal law enforcement officers (under Code section 80B.11H(3)).

Individuals not employed by a law enforcement agency must be hired within 18 months of completing the level II academy training program to obtain certification.
