Iowa Department of Transportation must convene a study committee to assess the feasibility of implementing wildlife crossings at highway locations with high rates of vehicle-animal crashes

Committee membership includes the directors of transportation, natural resources, and the Institute for Transportation at Iowa State University (or their designees)

Report must include a data-driven ranking of highway locations with the most animal-related crashes, using traffic volume, carcass removal records, crash reports, and animal habitat/migration data

Recommendations must address countermeasures such as highway overpasses, underpasses, and improved fencing, along with preliminary costs, crash-reduction estimates, and benefit-to-cost ratios

Final report due to the General Assembly by January 11, 2027, with a public dashboard on the DOT website to track progress; the bill's provisions are repealed July 1, 2027
