Amends Iowa Code section 144C.8 to add a third circumstance for forfeiture of authority to control final disposition of human remains

Designees or persons with authority to control must claim cremated remains within 30 calendar days after receiving written notice from a third party or forfeit their rights

Authority transfers to the next competent adult listed in Code section 144C.5 when forfeiture occurs and no alternate designee exists

Makes technical changes replacing references to "declarant" with "decedent" throughout the forfeiture provisions

Existing forfeiture circumstances remain: being charged with murder/voluntary manslaughter of the decedent, or failing to exercise authority within 24 hours of death notification (or 40 hours of death)
