Amends Iowa Code Section 152B.14 to require respiratory care practitioner license applicants to obtain the Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from the National Board for Respiratory Care beginning January 1, 2027.

Applicants already licensed as respiratory care practitioners in another state may alternatively complete a board-approved examination instead of obtaining the RRT credential.

Practitioners licensed in Iowa prior to January 1, 2027, are exempt from the RRT credential requirement for license renewal, unless their license lapsed more than three months before renewal.

Directs the Board of Respiratory Care and Polysomnography to cooperate with educational institutions and professional organizations to develop pathways for those holding Certified Respiratory Therapist credentials to upgrade to the RRT credential.

Requires the board to create continuing education opportunities to support professional development of respiratory care practitioners.
