Expands grounds for removing a local assessor by a majority vote of the conference board to include charges of failing to meet applicable employment standards or charges of unethical or unlawful conduct, in addition to existing grounds of misconduct, nonfeasance, malfeasance, or misfeasance in office.

Defines "misconduct" to include knowingly engaging in assessment methods, practices, or conduct that contravene any applicable law, administrative rule, or order of any court or other government authority.

Requires charges to be substantiated at a public hearing if demanded by the assessor through written notice served upon the conference board chairperson.

Takes effect immediately upon enactment due to being deemed of immediate importance.
