Defines "short-term deployment" as military movement or mobilization of less than 30 days under orders that are unaccompanied, do not authorize dependent travel, or otherwise prevent family members from relocating with the deploying parent

Allows deploying parents who miss court-ordered physical care or visitation during short-term deployment to make up the missed time within 30 days before or after the deployment

Limits make-up time to the actual number of days missed during deployment, not exceeding 30 days total

Requires deploying parents to notify the other parent in writing within 7 days of receiving deployment orders and provide a plan for fulfilling missed custody or visitation time

Applies to uniformed service members including active and reserve components of all military branches, National Guard, U.S. Merchant Marine, Public Health Service commissioned corps, and NOAA commissioned corps
