Amends Iowa Code Section 708.6 to modify the crime of intimidation with a dangerous weapon by adding that the offense applies when a person shoots, throws, launches, or discharges a dangerous weapon directly "at another person"

Creates a Class "C" felony when the act is committed with intent to injure or provoke fear or anger in another, punishable by up to 10 years confinement and fines between $1,370 and $13,660

Establishes a Class "D" felony for the same conduct without the specific intent requirement, punishable by up to 5 years confinement and fines between $1,025 and $10,245

Removes language specifically referencing discharging weapons "within an assembly of people" while retaining coverage for acts directed at buildings, vehicles, airplanes, railroad cars, or boats occupied by others
