Applicants for an initial administrator license must have taught in Iowa for at least five consecutive years immediately prior to applying, and must have worked in no more than two school districts during that five-year period.

Administrators holding either an initial or professional administrator license must maintain their teacher license as a condition of keeping their administrator license.

The Board of Educational Examiners (BOEE) is directed to adopt administrative rules to implement these requirements.

These provisions apply to applications submitted and licenses granted on or after the effective date of the Act.
