Courts may order a parent to undergo drug testing as part of a child custody order, with the duration and frequency determined by what serves the child's best interest.

If a parent fails a court-ordered drug test, the court may revise the custody order as it determines will serve the child's best interest.

Drug test results are confidential and may only be disclosed to parties involved in the custody proceeding.

The parent ordered to undergo drug testing is responsible for paying all costs associated with the testing.

Amends Iowa Code Section 598.41 by adding new subsection 7A to authorize these court-ordered drug testing provisions.
