Department of Education must prepare a report on cardiac emergency response plans and automated external defibrillators (AEDs) in coordination with all Iowa schools, including public school districts, accredited nonpublic schools, and charter schools.

Report must include the number of schools that have adopted and implemented cardiac emergency response plans.

Report must document the number of AEDs owned by each school and their specific locations on school property.

Department of Education must submit the report to the General Assembly on or before January 15, 2027.

Cardiac emergency response plans cover incidents during physical education, extracurricular athletic activities, practices, contests, and school-sponsored activities on school property.
