AI systems are defined as machine-based systems that make predictions, recommendations, or decisions influencing real or virtual environments that may directly impact the public, including systems using machine learning, large language models, natural language processing, and computer vision

"Automated employment decision-making tools" are defined as software using algorithms or AI to automate hiring, wages, promotion, discipline, recruitment, or termination decisions (excludes basic tools like calculators, spell-checkers, and spreadsheets)

State agencies using automated employment decision-making tools must publish a list on their website within 90 days of use and submit annual usage reports to the general assembly by January 15

The department may withhold inventory information if disclosure would jeopardize state IT security or as otherwise prescribed by law
