Assault with intent to cause serious injury against a public utility worker performing their duties is classified as a Class "C" felony.

Assault using or displaying a dangerous weapon against a public utility worker is classified as a Class "C" felony.

Creates a new harassment offense for threatening a public utility employee or contractor while they are performing utility responsibilities.

The protections apply when the assailant knows the victim is a public utility employee or contractor engaged in utility work.
